There is a specific kind of magic that happens when the sun hits the Adriatic Sea. It isn't just blue; it’s a shifting palette of sapphire, turquoise, and emerald that seems to vibrate against the ancient white limestone of the Dalmatian coast. If you’ve been dreaming of a getaway that combines deep history, world-class culinary experiences, and the sheer freedom of the open water, our upcoming Split to Montenegro sailing adventure is exactly where you need to be this May.
We believe travel should be more than just checking boxes on a map. It’s about the stories we tell, the places we experience, and the moments that stay with us long after we’ve returned home. This 16-day journey is a carefully curated love letter to the Mediterranean lifestyle.
The Journey Begins: Ancient Walls and Welcome Toasts
Day 1 (Friday): Arrival in Split Your journey starts in a city that isn’t just old, it’s alive. Split is built around (and within) the 1,700-year-old ruins of Diocletian’s Palace. When you arrive, you’ll settle into luxury accommodations that offer a perfect sanctuary after your flight. Spend your afternoon wandering the Riva, Split’s iconic waterfront promenade.
In the evening, we gather for a "Welcome Dinner" hosted by the Sailing Adventures team. This is the moment the group transforms from a collection of travelers into a crew. We’ll toast to the horizon and get a first taste of the compassionate hospitality that defines.

Day 2 (Saturday): Split to Maslinica Before we pull anchor, we take a deeper dive into the UNESCO World Heritage site of Diocletian’s Palace. It’s a surreal experience to see modern shops and cafes tucked into Roman arches. By the afternoon, we board our luxury catamaran, your floating home for the next two weeks.
We set sail for the village of Maslinica on the island of Šolta. The highlight of the day is anchoring in Šešula Bay. Surrounded by thick pine woods, the bay is perfectly protected, creating a mirror-still surface for our first night on the water.

Island Vows and Vineyard Dreams
Day 3 (Sunday): Maslinica to Komiža Today, we head for the island of Vis, the furthest inhabited island from the mainland. Because of its distance, Vis has preserved an authenticity that is hard to find elsewhere. We’ll visit Komiža, a historic fishing village that looks like a film set.
Komiža is famous for its maritime significance and its incredible vineyards. We’ll explore local wine cellars where the Vugava grape, a variety grown here since antiquity, is turned into liquid gold. It’s a day where pure hedonism meets history. Between the wine tastings and the museum visits, you’ll feel the rhythm of the Adriatic slowing your heart rate to a peaceful hum.
The Road Less Traveled: Wine, History, and Salt Lakes
As we move through the first week, the crowds of the mainland fade into a distant memory. We focus on the "Slow Travel" movement, ensuring our guests have time to actually breathe. For more details on how we structure these experiences, you can check out our DAI Travel Services.
Day 8 (Friday): Korčula to Polače Today’s highlight is a visit to the world-famous Grgić Vineyard.
After our tasting, we sail to Polače on the island of Mljet. Mljet is often called the "Greenest Island," and for good reason. We’ll explore the Salt Lakes (Malo & Veliko Jezero) and take a boat to the tiny islet in the center of the lake to visit a 12th-century Benedictine Monastery.
Dinner tonight is a quintessential sailing experience. We’ll be moored just three meters from a local restaurant, enjoying open-grilled seafood caught that morning by the very people serving us. There is something profoundly moving about eating food that has traveled less distance than you have today.

The Gourmet Peak: Oysters and World-Class Chefs
Day 9 (Saturday): Polače to Kobas Bay If there is a "foodie" peak to this trip, this is it. We sail the Ston Channel toward Kobas Bay. This region is home to the world’s largest oyster and mussel farms. The unique blend of nutrient-rich freshwater springs and seawater creates an environment where shellfish thrive. We’ll visit Ston to see the medieval walls (the longest in Europe outside of China) and the ancient salt pans.
The grand finale of the day is an exclusive dinner at the famous Gastro Mare restaurant. We are hosted by world-renowned chef Toni Bjelančić. Toni’s philosophy aligns perfectly with ours, respect for the ingredient, compassion for the land, and a touch of artistic flair. You haven't truly tasted the Adriatic until you've had it prepared by his hands.
Life Onboard the Catamaran
We know that "luxury" is a word that gets thrown around a lot, but for us, it means space, comfort, and the ability to find a quiet corner whenever you need it. Our catamaran layout is designed for maximum relaxation.

Whether you’re lounging on the netting at the bow as the hulls slice through the water or enjoying a cocktail in the spacious cockpit, the boat is designed to feel like a private villa that just happens to move.
