Sixty years. Six decades of boldly going where no one has gone before. As we approach the diamond anniversary of the Star Trek franchise this August, the buzz in the quadrant is reaching a fever pitch. But let’s be honest: a milestone this massive requires more than just a standard hotel room and a plastic phaser. It requires a strategy. It requires a "Founder" level of grace, a bit of high-fashion mystery, and, most importantly, the right caffeine to keep your warp core stable.
I’ve been working closely with the team at Dale's Angels Inc. to curate an experience that honors the legacy of Trek while embracing the luxury of the present. We aren’t just going to a convention; we are embarking on a restorative, intellectual, and stylish mission.
Here is your guide to spending 36 hours (and a little extra) in the Final Frontier of Las Vegas for the ST:LV 60th Anniversary, running August 6–10, 2026.
The Base: Encore at Wynn Las Vegas
This year, we’ve made a tactical pivot. While the heart of the convention beats at the Rio, we’ve moved our base of operations to the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. Why? Because 5-star peace of mind is the ultimate luxury when you're navigating a sea of thousands of fans.
Working with a luxury travel advisor (shoutout to the Fora network) means we get the perks, late check-outs, room upgrades, and that incredible Encore Spa access, that turn a hectic trip into a restorative retreat. When you spend eight hours on a convention floor, you need a sanctuary to return to.

Thursday: The Arrival & The Ritual
Arrival in Vegas is usually a sensory assault, but once you cross the threshold of the Encore, the world slows down.
4:00 PM: The Wynn Pets Welcome If you’re traveling with a four-legged first officer like Ethel, the Wynn Pets program is a game-changer. We’ve already placed a request with the concierge for the "Star-Pup" salmon treats from their Bark-ery menu to be waiting in the room. There’s something deeply compassionate about a hotel that treats our animal companions with the same reverence as their human guests.
5:00 PM: The French Press Ritual Before the madness begins, we ground ourselves. Out comes the FB Roasters French Press ritual. We’re packing the "Boldly Go" espresso travel kit, a custom small-batch selection of dark, smoky, and bold beans that can stand up to the dry Nevada heat.
7:00 PM: Grounding with Octavia While the rest of the strip is hitting the slots, I’ll be curled up in the window seat with a copy of Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. As part of our "Far From Beale Street" curation, we believe that understanding the future of sci-fi requires honoring the foundations of Afro-futurism. It’s a heavy read, but it provides the perfect intellectual weight to balance the upcoming spectacle. You can find this and other essential titles at our online bookstore.
Friday: The Convention Dive
9:00 AM: Private Transfer to the Rio Don't deal with ride-share surges. A private transfer ensures you arrive at the Rio with your uniform pristine and your "Section 31" mystery intact.
1:00 PM: The High Tea Escape By midday, the noise of the dealer's room can get overwhelming. We’ve scheduled a refined "High Tea" break. Whether you’re sipping a classic Earl Grey or a chilled Latin American blend cold brew, it’s about that 20-minute reset. We’re all about "Founder" energy here, calm, observant, and entirely in control of the environment.

Saturday: The Big Day & The Look
Saturday is the apex of the 60th Anniversary. The panels are bigger, the crowds are denser, and the evening Gala is the event of the decade.
2:00 PM: The Mandatory Compassionate Reset This is non-negotiable. We are scheduling a 2-hour "Compassionate Reset" nap. No phones, no comms, just black-out curtains and the high-thread-count sheets of the Encore. You cannot celebrate the future if you are running on empty.
6:00 PM: The Gala Look For the 60th Anniversary Gala, we aren’t just doing a costume; we’re doing a moment.
The Look: "Section 31 by Balenciaga."
The Vibe: A floor-length black matte silk trench-gown. It’s high-fashion, mysterious, and carries heavy "Founder" energy. It says, "I know the secrets of the Alpha Quadrant, but I’m here for the champagne."

Sunday: Recovery and Reflection
10:00 AM: The Bookstore Hunt Before heading to the airport, we’re doing a quick scout for rare finds to add to the Far From Beale Street collection. We’re looking for vintage Trek tech manuals and first-edition Afro-futurist paperbacks.
1:00 PM: Fixing "Convention Feet" A restorative massage at the Encore Spa is the only way to end this mission. Convention floors are brutal on the arches, and a specialized foot treatment is the compassionate choice for your body.
The 60th Anniversary Reading List
In honor of six decades of storytelling, Eva from our team has whipped up a "Boldly Go" reading list. These aren't just books; they are gateways to understanding the cultural impact of Star Trek and its intersection with Afro-futurism and social justice.
"To The Stars" by George Takei: A foundational read. Takei’s journey from the internment camps to the bridge of the Enterprise is the quintessential Trek story of resilience. Buy it here.
"Parable of the Sower" by Octavia Butler: Essential Afro-futurism. It challenges us to think about how we shape the future when the present is crumbling.
"The Ferengi: Masters of Profit" by Euftis Emery: For a bit of fun and a deep dive into the most misunderstood culture in the Trek universe. View the cover.
"A Stitch in Time" by Andrew J. Robinson: For those who appreciate the complex, shadowy layers of Cardassian life. Perfect for the "Section 31" enthusiasts.
"Kindred" by Octavia Butler: A stark, necessary look at history and time travel that grounds the sci-fi genre in the reality of the Black experience.

Final Thoughts
As we look toward the next 60 years, let’s remember that the "Final Frontier" isn't just about space, it’s about how we treat each other, how we care for ourselves, and how we continue to learn. Whether you’re sipping a French Roast in your suite or walking the Gala floor in Balenciaga, do it with compassion.
